Getting Around - Parking, Uber, Public Trans, Walking

Public transportation in June Lake Loop is certainly lacking. In the past there have been summertime buses available within the Loop, and also regular roundtrip bus service into the Loop from Mammoth.

Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) does provide service from Lancaster, CA to Reno, NV that will stop at the June Lake Junction by request with 24-hour notice.

Bus service is also provided between Mammoth Lakes and Yosemite Valley with a stop at June Lake Junction by request only. This bus runs from June 15 – October 15 as long as the Tioga pass is open.

June Lake Loop does not offer Taxi or Uber service. If you enjoy walking and/or biking, exploring the Loop is extremely enjoyable in our easily walkable and bikeable town.

While there are no public parking lots in The Loop, most visitors can locate parking on the street in the Village area. When parking along Highway 158, be sure to park completely off of the road and also pay close attention to areas with parking restrictions to avoid costly citations.

One of the easiest places to find ample parking is at Gull Lake Park. It is a beautiful place to take your picnic and watch the sunset over the Sierra Crest.
