Most of the population of June Lake lives along the five mile stretch of CA Highway 158 corridor known as the “June Lake Loop”. With a population of only 633 residents in June Lake get to know their neighbors and enjoy the sense of community that comes only from living in a small mountain town.

The demographics of June Lake are Caucasian (85%), Latino (12%), American Indian (2%), and Asian (1%). The median age is 42-years-old. In the last several years there is a greater number of families moving into the region. With many of housing units in June Lake are used as second homes, residents may have to wait till summer or ski season to meet their neighbors.
