The Community of June Lake is located within the Eastern Sierra Unified School District (ESUSD). Local students, Grades K-8, attend Lee Vining Elementary. Local students, Grades 9-12, attend Lee Vining High School. These schools are located 15 miles north of June Lake Loop. The District provides free bus transportation to and from school.

The district provides a comprehensive educational program and extra-curricular activities. They have embraced the importance of 21st Century Skills and provide each student with 1-1 technology. They support student social and emotional needs and all staff has received 2 years of training in Seven Mindsets Program. They have built support with community partnerships and include all stakeholders in Community Forums and encourage parental involvement in their child’s education.

Lee Vining Elementary School is just to the west, located behind Nicely’s restaurant in Lee Vining. Lee Vining High School is located just to the East off of Highway 395 on the north end of Lee Vining. The District is highly rated. While most residents of June Lake send their children to Lee Vining Elementary and Lee Vining High School for K-12 education, residents can apply to Mammoth Unified School District schools if they work in Mammoth Lakes, or if they wish to participate in the District’s immersion program or in sports programs that are not offered by the ESUSD.
